We’ve posted several articles on how consumers will be shopping on mobile devices during the holidays, but now there is information on how shoppers will actually be making holiday purchases via mobile devices.
The Mobile Marketing Association and Sybase 365 are reporting that:
- 62% of mobile consumers will make holiday
purchases on their devices
- 38% will use them to find store locations
- 34% plan to compare prices via mobile device
- 28% expect to research coupons and deals on
- 27% would use a mobile device to find product
What Does This Mean To You?
Mobile is quickly moving beyond a great way to search and learn about new products and is becoming a full purchasing platform. Is your business ready for this? Hopefully you have a mobile site, but does that site allow consumers to buy your goods and services? Not giving your mobile customers the ability make purchases is equal to leaving money on the table. Don’t count on them deciding to come to your location if they can’t buy on their device. Mobile is all about convenience. If it is not convenient for consumers to buy from you mobile-ly, they will probably find a competitor that facilitates their need – making your mobile entity irrelevant.
